This past weekend we had the Nurtured Knots Hairitage Chronicles Festival. Wondering what that is? It is an event whereby naturalistas come together to have fun, celebrate natural hair as we admire each others manes and shop.
It was an event full of pomp and colour as it was a lesso/khanga edition. Boy did people come out looking like goddesses. We were clearly not playing around.
The last hairitage chronicles was held in June and it was in Nakuru county. These events are becoming very common and it is a way to make girls (and guys) bond over hair, beard gang perhaps. ☺
It is so awesome to see women bonding over hair. You know talking about hair is therapeutic. You get to meet your hair crush too. It is an opportunity for you to exchange ideas as you help each other grow, hair wise.
The admins of the group nurturedknotts do a great job at organising these events. Every one has a theme and dressing according to tat makes it even more interesting.
The first hairitage chronicles event happened in March. Seeing naturalistas away from social media is truly fulfilling. Sometimes social media makes you think you really know someone, but when you meet and greet you realise you only know so much.
Would you like to come and have fun at this event again? There is one being organised soon and it will be in Mombasa. Why not take part, come see what fun you will have. Best part of it all it is a free event. So the only thing you will pay for is the food and products you will buy.
Being a natural girl is not just a trend. It i a way of life an it is here to stay. Be part of this great movement, come learn about your hair, how to take care of it as you talk to your favourite bloggers, vloggers and vendors.
